Introducing Catechism 101 Lesson Plans!

I’m happy to share my newest project with you all: Catechism 101 (free) Lesson Plans! Catechism 101 Lesson Plans will go through the Catechism of the Catholic Church section by section, providing activity ideas and resources for a variety of age groups (6-8, 9-11, 11-13). The activities for ages 11-13 could also be used with older children if you don’t have a different religious ed structure for high school…

These lesson plans allow parents, or religion teachers, flexibility – you can have your children studying different topics at the same time, or have them all learning about the same topic, but at different levels. Depending on your needs, you can structure your program around these lesson plans, or use them to supplement whatever religious ed program you’re already using.

I’ve started this project, because I love the idea of having some sort of lesson structure, for kids, that is completely based on the Catechism of the Catholic Church and gets them actively engaged in their learning. So, if I’m going to start doing it anyway so I have it ready for my own kids, I thought I’d share it too!

The first lesson plan, “Man’s Desire for God” is already up. Check back every few days to access new lesson plans! Just click “Catechism 101″ on the top menu.

Also, I’d love feedback from any of you that use the lesson plans regarding what works best for you!

On a side note, don’t forget to download your free Lent Calendar, and prepare a few activities to do with your kids for Ash Wednesday!

God bless you all.
